🎓 Eligibility Criteria
1. Special Provisions & Domicile
- Only “Migrants” as defined in SRO 412 of 2009 or “Kashmiri Pandits” as defined in SRO 425 of 2017 are eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be Domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
- A valid Domicile Certificate issued on or before the cut-off date (08.09.2026) is mandatory.
2. Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess a Graduation degree from any recognized university.
- The educational qualification must be acquired strictly on or before the cut-off date for filling online application forms.
3. Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)
- OM Candidates: Maximum age limit is 40 years.
- Reserved Categories (SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS, OBC): Maximum age limit is 43 years.
- Physically Challenged Persons: Maximum age limit is 42 years.
- Note: No candidate should be born after 01.01.2008.

📝 Selection Process & Scheme of Examination
- Selection Criteria: The final selection for the Sub-Inspector post will be based entirely on the merit obtained in the written/OMR examination only.
- Question Type: The exam will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions set in the English language.
- Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking penalty of 0.25 (one-fourth) marks assigned to a question for each incorrect answer.
- Syllabus: The official syllabus for the examination will be notified separately by the JKSSB.
