Notification Released: The University of Kashmir, acting as the Nodal Agency, has officially released Notification No. KU/JKSET-LASET/01/2026 for the State Eligibility Test (JKSET/LASET-2026). This crucial examination determines the eligibility of candidates for appointment as Assistant Professors in Universities and Colleges across the UT of J&K and the UT of Ladakh. Furthermore, qualifying candidates become eligible for admission to Ph.D. programs. The examination will cover 41 subjects.

The examination fee must be paid exclusively through the online payment gateway integrated with the online application portal.
Eligibility Conditions
- Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from a UGC-recognized University/Institution.
- A relaxed requirement of 50% marks is applicable for candidates belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, ST, PWD, and Third Gender categories.
- Candidates who have appeared or are appearing in their qualifying Master’s Degree examination can apply provisionally by uploading a Bonafide Certificate.
- Candidates with a Ph.D. degree whose Master’s level examination was completed on or before 19 September 1991 are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (from 55% to 50%).

Jammu (Code 02):
Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri, Udhampur, and Bhadarwah.
Ladakh (Code 03):
Leh and Kargil.
